Daily flights between Jakarta and Banda Aceh are maintained by Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Batavia and Sriwijaya Air via Medan. Aceh can also easily be reached by air from Singapore via Medan and penang using Air Asia or Fire Fly.
The available transport facilities include public buses and cars, sea ships and air services which link the province with other parts of the Indonesian archipelago. Taxis and hire cars are available in Banda Aceh.
Update: Aceh Visa on Arrival (VoA) is available at Aceh's Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport. The VoA extends to nationals of 63 countries. VoA are valid for 30 days and are extendable with another 30 days to be applied at Immigration offices in Indonesia. For each visitor using VoA entering Aceh will be charged US$25. There are direct flights to Banda Aceh from Jakarta, Medan, Penang or Kuala Lumpur
